AI Splines
Author splines — SplineContainers, knots, tangents and tangent-modes, closed loops, and evaluate points along a curve.
At a glance
What the agent can do with it
Adds no MCP tools: it contributes an RQL module with the splines source and adapters for SplineContainer. That powers 3 capabilities the agent reaches through rql-query / rql-mutate. How RQL works →
- Create splines
Create SplineContainers (open or closed) and add or remove splines inside them.
splines | call CreateContainer("Road", "(0, 0, 5)", "(0, 90, 0)", true) - Knots & tangents
Add, insert, move and remove knots, change tangent modes, and open or close a spline.
splines | get containers | where gameObject.name == "Road" | call AddKnot("(1, 0, 2)") - Points along a curve
Get the position at any point along a spline (0 to 1) — handy for placing objects along a path.
splines | get containers | where gameObject.name == "Road" | call Evaluate(0.5)
Install
Requires the base plugin com.ivanmurzak.unity.mcp. After installing, the RQL module loads with the package — the agent sees it in rql-schema.
openupm add com.ivanmurzak.unity.mcp.splinesWhen to ask the AI for it
Ask for paths, rails, patrol routes, or anything that follows a curve.
Example prompts
Copy-pasteable first requests. Start with one, verify it in the editor, then build up.
Create a closed-loop spline with 6 knots forming a rough circle of radius 5 around the origin.Add a knot to the `Track` spline halfway along it and smooth its tangents.
