Cloud video and audio generation, a rebuilt Models tab, and remote access to a running daemon
4 highlights4 new features9 improvements10 fixes
Video and audio models now run in the cloud from separate packages, next to local image and video generation. The Models tab separates models by type with filters and Local (free) versus Cloud (uses your plan) labels, and Desktop Settings > Devices plus the CLI can reach a running daemon from another device.

Cloud video models
Video models can now run in the cloud from separate packages, next to the local image and video packages. Text-to-video, image-to-video and multi-reference models are available across a range of quality levels, and each one shows what it uses as a percentage of your plan before you run it. (#1138)
Models tab, local and cloud labels, session cloud mode
The Models tab separates models by type with counts and filters, and every row says how it runs: Local is free, Cloud uses your plan. Cloud generation asks before each job by default, and a session control can switch to a budget or off; a funding card requires a tick before any extra balance is used. (#1141)
Cloud audio models, tools and player
Audio models now run in the cloud from separate packages, with an Audio tab and facets for filtering. Units are labelled per second, per thousand characters or per clip, and result cards have a Play button that loads audio on first press. (#1144)
Remote access from Settings and the CLI
Desktop Settings > Devices lets you rename this computer, allow remote control, pair another device by code or QR, manage grants and revoke or forget a device. The CLI adds gamedev remote and a per-command --on flag, and remote chats open in both Desktop and the CLI. (#1157)
New
Agent launches the editor on demand
Chat accepts messages while the editor is closed; the agent gets a connection tool before its first message and can launch the original project when a task needs it. Ordinary discussion does not open an editor, and an uncertain write is never replayed automatically. (#1129)
Open a chat from another worktree
A chat that is still running for another worktree of the same repository can now be opened from the main project, and the reverse, by attaching to the running owner. The viewing project can list, observe and drive that one chat, while captures stay with the owner. (#1125)
Share local image models across your computers
One computer can lend its local image models to the account's other computers. Pins keep a model loaded, local jobs go first, devices take turns, and at most three unfinished images per device are handed over. (#1156)
Agent Client Protocol agent
gamedev acp turns the CLI into an Agent Client Protocol agent, so editors like T3 Code and Zed can run AI Game Dev as a provider. Sign-in, the model picker, streaming prompts and tool calls, approvals, cancel and close all work over the protocol, and chats still run on the shared kernel. (#1162)
Improved
Desktop and CLI share one background kernel
Desktop and the CLI are now clients of one background kernel that owns credentials and workers. That keeps chats running independently of a window and is the base for reaching a daemon from another device. (#1120)
Long package jobs renew their hold
Package work now uses a renewable short lease instead of a fixed thirty-minute cap, so a long generation wait is not cut off while it is still alive. A hung backend stops counting after the lease lapses, and a two-hour ceiling still ends a hold that is never released. (#1127)
Trial offer and billing copy
The access offer now describes a seven-day free trial that converts to a paid subscription, and the button asks to start the trial. Billing shows the first charge date and that the paid plan starts with a full allowance when the trial ends; a cancelled trial says it will not be charged. (#1128)
Reconnect then send in both clients
Sending after a reconnect now goes through one shared path in Desktop and the CLI: wait for the connection, then send exactly once, with one ordered refusal when the chat changed or the wait ran out. The focused chat's agent is also recorded as the last pick, so the next new chat starts with it. (#1131)
No more open-editor prompts in chat
The panel above the composer that asked you to open the editor is gone; the agent now opens the editor when a task needs it. The sidebar keeps Open Editor and Install, and open or install failures still show there as text. (#1143)
Session header stays visible
The central panel header no longer folds its buttons away on hover; maximize, float and package buttons are always visible. The first three package buttons stay inline and the rest move to the overflow menu, and the selected tab stays fully in view when you switch or resize. (#1147)
Remote images as blobs and stopped-chat reads
Remote chats now move images as content-addressed blobs with hash checks, a per-device transfer cap and a local cache that is wiped on forget or sign-out. Stopped chats can be read, a draft reopen issue is fixed, and the host does not dial phones. (#1159)
Funding consent for 3D generation
Tripo now uses the same funding card as cloud media: both funding parts, a required tick for any extra balance, a denial state that disables Allow with a next action, and a free local alternative. An older server still renders the previous card. (#1160)
Shared models grant and remote chat details
Pairing gains a shared-models choice, and Settings > Devices shows a card while sharing is on. Remote chat tabs follow the host's title, an Also open on pill names other paired devices watching the chat, and the CLI adds /remote and start-at-login. (#1163)
Fixed
Checkout retry and Windows config writes
A checkout start that hits an expired session now refreshes the account once and retries, then stops with a sign-in action if it still fails. On Windows, config writes wait longer for a temporary file hold, so identity recovery no longer fails during startup. (#1089)
3D reference tools reach the agent
The Tripo tools that build a model from reference views or a single image no longer use schema shapes the agent SDK skips, so the agent can offer and run them again. The either/or and view-count rules are still enforced before any upload or quote. (#1090)
Kernel chat events and host approvals
Team roster and teammate messages now reach Desktop and the CLI on kernel chats. The Desktop control bridge answers approvals for host chats, and the CLI and Desktop now agree on stop causes and approval-policy rows. (#1126)
Chat view stops reloading every capture
Desktop now projects a host chat's captures through the shared write path instead of reloading the bundle every few hundred milliseconds. System lines, the live context fill and request timing survive a turn, and a stopped chat still shows its idle line. (#1135)
Message rail follows the viewport
The chat message rail highlights every visible user message and its arrows move relative to the section at the top of the viewport. Arrows appear only on hover when a destination exists, and scrolling the rail does not move the transcript. (#1139)
Windows process starts leave the event loop free
On Windows, starting a process now happens on a worker thread and the caller gets a handle at once, so a loaded machine no longer stalls the daemon for seconds. If the spawn thread dies, its children fail with an error instead of hanging, and the next start gets a fresh thread. (#1133)
Outside files open read-only in the app
A chat link to a file outside the project opens read-only in the app again instead of always going to the system application. The grant pins the file's identity, refuses links, hard links and protected folders, and checks the opened handle before every read. (#1130)
Outside-file grant pins birth time
Outside-file grants now pin a file's birth time as part of its identity, so a replaced file is refused rather than read. (#1137)
Unreal engine installs are read-only to the agent
An always-on guard denies writes and mutating shell commands that target an installed Unreal Engine in every permission mode, including bypass. Build failures now lead with the compiler, UHT, linker or SDK errors from the whole output and include the log path. (#1145)
Remote approval floor and pairing wiring
Under a remote Ask every time policy, tool allow rules no longer bypass the approval prompt; questions, plans, todo writes and project reads stay exempt. The remote role's links, viewer side and pairing are wired, and a host-only tool policy can leave allow rules in force. (#1154)
